Things seem to be picking up in the ever ongoing battle between Facebook and Twitter. Vine, an app by Twitter, has long been the video sharing app most preferred by smartphone users. Instagram, which was famously bought by Facebook, has cemented itself as the picture sharing app used by nearly 130 million users a month to share 16 billion photos to date. Facebook announced today that they’d like to jump into Twitter’s turf a bit by announcing that they will be adding video sharing to Instagram.
Here are some of the details: Videos can be 15 seconds long, as opposed to the 6 second of Vine, and there will be over 10 different filters for videos posted on Instagram, much like the filters they offer for photos.
Sorry Twitter, it looks like your Vine may be cut before it could really grow.
